Women Who Bike: Oct. Brunch Post & Nov. Brunch Reminder

You know it’s been a busy month when the month is about over and I still haven’t posted pictures from our Women Who Bike Brunch! Yikes! We had beautiful weather for a ride-to-brunch Sunday, and we had a nice turnout at our location in the Southport Corridor area at Deleece, and we had some special guests from the Urban Adventure League blog!

As always with our brunches, we sat around the table inside and enjoyed a lovely brunch, but we spent at least another 30 minutes outside talking about and looking at our bikes.  Two women at the brunch had recently (and independently) purchased Linus Dutchi bikes which they rode to the brunch. We were all anxious to see these bikes up close and it was interesting to compare the bikes and how each rider has configured the bike to meet her needs. A Brooks saddle on one, and a Brooks Basket on the other, and so forth.

One of the Dutchi owners also purchased one of the folding bike locks made by ABUS – so we were all very interested in that as well.

And of course we had to check out the bikes that our special guests April and Shawn rode across the country from Oregon – a trip they’ve documented on the blog Urban Adventure League. They were near the end of their trip and were  about to turn around and head back west.

It was a fun brunch as always, and a great day to be out riding a bike. Mark your calendars for our next brunch on Sunday November 6th, at Bleeding Heart Cafe on Chicago Avenue!
