When Your Everyday Route Turns on You

Not exactly the beautiful side of city biking, eh?

Those of you who ride along Hubbard Street every day will have have noticed that the city decided to up and repave the strip between Ogden Avenue and Ashland Avenue last week.  In the morning I had a lovely ride to work. That evening I noticed the curb lanes had been stripped bare of asphalt. The next day they were busy tearing up the rest of the street.  Don’t get me wrong , when it’s finished it will be grand, and I’ve got a sturdy steel-frame bike so I can ride on rough pavement, or lack thereof.  Good thing to, because Hubbard is a great East-West route to spots downtown and I much prefer riding there then on Grand Avenue.   Any other route suggestions?
