You may have already read about Dottie’s beautiful new bike via her post yesterday over at Lets Go Ride A Bike. ¬†After the January edition of the “Women who Ride” brunch yesterday (more in another post) some of us headed down to Copenhagen Cyclery to look at some bikes with Dottie. That’s a beautiful bike she has there, eh? I’m liking those fat tires. Velorbis makes some absolutely beautiful bikes and I had a hard time choosing between a Velorbis and a WorkCycles bike before ultimately deciding to purchase my WorkCycles Oma last year.

A Red Velorbis Dannebrog

A Red Velorbis Dannebrog

The red Velorbis Dannebrog bike for instance, is quite a lovely bike – that red frame and those cream tires, just lovely. I’ve seen a couple of people riding these in Chicago but I have not yet met them. Velorbis bikes tend to weigh a little less than my Oma, and they have that nifty spring-loaded rack on the back that includes a briefcase hook. I didn’t ask to take this beauty for a test ride because I had a feeling that I would then want to buy it.

Velorbis Long John

Out in front of the store they had a Velorbis Long John cargo bike , as well as one of the Larry vs Harry Bullitt cargo bikes ¬†(the pink one). I’m planning on making a return trip to Copenhagen to test ride some of these cargo bikes – perhaps on a weekday when there is less traffic zooming down Milwaukee Avenue.
