Spring is on it’s way to Chicago though it was playing coy on Saturday for our Logan Square Kidical Mass ride. The rain held off, but the sun peeked in and out of the clouds, making it a bit chilly when the sun disappeared. That didn’t seem to faze many riders though, as we had a really nice turnout for the ride, including some first-time riders Brendan Kevenides and his family, Megan from the travel blog Me-Go, and Brandon from Chicago Cargo.
We rode through the Logan Square and Bucktown neighborhoods on our way to Erhler Park where we parked the bikes. The kids hit the playground and the friends and parents just enjoyed a pretty nice day.
Brandon (Chicago Cargo) rode a bright yellow Bullitt Cargo bike for the ride and once we arrived at Erhler Park, some adults took the bike out for some test spins and a few young riders were game to ride along as test ‘cargo’.
Basically a lot of bike riding fun was had by all. Check out the Chicago Kidical Mass Facebook page for more photos, and check out the website for all the various Chicago Kidical Mass rides you can choose from in Chicago. Upcoming rides this month are scheduled for Lincoln Square and Hyde Park.
