Chicago Critical Lass : The December 2013 Ride!

No surprise that the December ride was a holiday-themed ride, nor that the starting point was chosen to be the same as last year’s December ride – The Christkindlmarket in Daley Plaza. The market takes up the entire plaza, and there are food stands, beer stands and stalls that sell all kinds of German goods.

All the menus in the plaza were similar to this one.

Yes, this stall sells only wooden toys, ornaments and decorations from Germany.

It was a fairly nice night weather-wise for Chicago with temps around 30 at the time of the ride, with a pretty strong wind gusting out of the south and west.  This made for a busy market – packed with people.

We all managed to find each other and get ourselves some mulled wine before heading out on our ride.

And yes.. everyone decorated their helmets and/or bikes – some were more brightly lit than others!

Then it was time to head out and ride north out of the loop to our final destination – Four Moon Tavern, in  the Roscoe Village neighborhood.

And once at our final destination, we  had a lot of good beer, good food, and good conversation.
