Cargo Bikes – Share the Love & Come to the Roll Call!

Earlier this summer we bought ourselves a cargo bike – a bright orange Yuba Mundo! You can read about it in full detail in this earlier post I wrote. We are big big fans.  There are a lot of different types of cargo bikes, from bakfiets, to box bikes, long johns, bucket bikes, and of course those long-tail cargo bikes like the Yuba Mundo. They all have amazing kid and cargo-hauling abilities. Besides being able to haul Little Ding around and tow his bike, we can also haul some serious groceries home in the panniers on our Yuba Mundo.

One Cargo bike plus kid plus towing said kid’s bike

two and a half cases of wine – no problem!

I hauled these home in the panniers on the Yuba Mundo

The blog Cargobike Cult has a great list of most of the different cargo bikes available in the U.S.. While there hasn’t been a new post on the site in a couple of months it’s worth checking out the list in the footer of the site.
Even better – come check out some cargo bikes owned and used daily by folks here in Chicago! Monday night, September 12th from 6-9pm at West Town Bikes (2459 W. Division). Stop by Chicago’s first Cargo Bike Roll Call !!
